FORMER COUNTY SUPERVISOR DIES SUDDENLY AT FARM NEAR KEOSAUQUA
A long life of service to the people of Van Buren county came to a close Thursday morning when Thomas [?] Campbell, 65, died suddenly at his home near Keosauqua.
Mr. Campbell, among other services, had been a member of the board of county supervisors for six years and was widely known throughout Southern Iowa. He formerly represented a grading machine company and had had dealings with public officials throughout the state.
Mr. Campbell had worked on his farm silo Thursday morning but became suddenly fatigued. He went to the house, telling Mrs. Campbell he would rest until noon. A few minutes later when she passed his chair, Mrs. Campbell found her husband unconscious. He did not regain consciousness.
The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. M. E. Hayes of Keosauqua at the Methodist Episcopal church Saturday afternoon with a large attendance of friends. Burial was in the Forbes cemetery north of Keosauqua.
Besides his wife, Mr. Campbell left two sons--Dr. Fred Campbell of Des Moines and Hollis Campbell of Keosauqua, and a daughter, Mrs. (Mark?) Morris of Ames.
