OBITUARY

Oliver Pettit, son of Henry G. and Louisanna Pettit, was born June 25, 1864, and passed away at the old home May 28, 1924, being 59 years, 11 months and 3 days old. He was born in the vicinity of Lebanon and lived his entire life in that vicinity. Had been in declining health for some time but not known to be seriously ill until the past two or three weeks. He leaves five brothers and one sister namely: William H. of Salem, Oregon; Silas S. of Memphis, Mo.; Alvah of Milton, Iowa; Levi W. of Hendley, Nebr.; Arthur of Billings, Mont. and Mary E. Coffman of Douds, Iowa.

His father, mother and one brother have preceded him in death. The brother passed away some five years ago after which time the father and he lived alone until last November when the father passed away. His brother Silas and wife came and cared for him in the old home through his last illness.

Funeral was held on May the 30th at the Lebanon M.E. church conducted by Rev. Trostle, pastor of the church.
