William Robert Glandon
Aged Citizen Passes Away
Mt. Pleasant News, October 18, 1909William Glandon dies at home in South part of City at 3 p.m. Came here from Pennsylvania at Early Date -- Had Reached age of 92 -- Death due to old age --
This afternoon at 3 o'clock, Mt. pleasant lost one of the oldest citizens, Mr. William Glandon, who passed away at his home near the fair grounds.
Mr. Glandon was ninety-two years old. For over a year he had been an invalid and for the past several months, he had been bedfast. His ailments were complicated and due to a general breakdown resulting from severe old age.
He came to Iowa from Pennsylvania at an early age and settled here, where he has lived ever since. He leaves a wife, a daughter, and a son to mourn his loss.

This afternoon at the family residence at 612 S. Locust St., occurred the funeral services of the late Wm. R. Glandon, who passed quietly away yesterday afternoon, at half past 2 o'clock.
Mr. Glandon was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was born near Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1821, fifty years later moving to Utica, Iowa. Some 20 years after he moved to Middletown and from there he moved to this city about nineteen years ago.
He leaves a wife, and three children: Mr. O. D. Glandon of Helena, Montana; Mr. Joseph Glandon of Mexico, Missouri; and Mrs. Valentine Cupp of Stockport.
Two grand-children are in the city called to his death, Mr. W. H. Glandon and Mr. Wm. Cupp.
Interment took place at Forest Home Cemetery. [Not correct - was at Mount Zion, Miller Chapel]
