Ellis Van Weir

Ellis Van Weir, son of William and Caroline Weir, was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, April 5, 1888, and died at Veterans hospital, Omaha, May 27 at the age of 67 years, one month, 22 days.

He received his education at Vernon school in Van Buren county.

He grew to manhood in Van Buren county, after which he moved to western Iowa, and made his home in Siou City.

Those left to mourn his passing are four sisters: Mrs Wentie Hootman of Braddyville, Mrs. Leota Milton of Burlington, Mrs. Alfred Hanson, Mrs. Frank Downing of Gravity, one brother Louis Weir of Cantrill, Iowa.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services were conducted at Shum Funeral Home in Bedford by Rev. R. V. Felt.
Burial in Gravity Cemetery
