Grace Sherod
Miss Grace Sherod passed away at her home near Keosauqua on Nov. 6, 1942, aged 49 years and 20 days. She was the daughter of Bordman and Madge Taylor Sherod, and was born near Keosauqua, Oct. 16, 1893. Her father preceded her in death in 1934. She is survived by her mother and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Murphy of Keosauqua, and Mrs. Margaret Price of Tulare, Calif., and one niece, Barbara Jane Price.
Miss Sherod made her confession of faith in the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church in early youth and has been a faithful and consistent member of that church since entering its membership July 8, 1906. Besides her other activities in later years, she has acted as one of its trustees and as church treasurer. Her life has been full of good deeds and her genial disposition and interest in those about her endeared her to all. She was tenderly cared for during the year of her illness at the home, where she enjoyed the companionship of loved ones and friends until the end.
Funeral services were conducted at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church Sunday p. m. in charge of the pastor, Howard C. Irvine, with songs by Williams Bros. quartet accompanied by Mrs. Florence Campbell.
The pallbearers were six cousins, John Taylor, Laurence Taylor, Clem Topping, John Topping, Harold Meek and C. P. Gilbert. Burial in Miller Chapel cemetery.
The family express their heartfelt gratitude for sympathy and aid during the sickness and death of their loved one.
