Thad Sherod

Keosauqua – Thad Sherod, 73, died at Veterans Hospital in Knoxville Thursday. He had been a patient at the hospital the past 11 months.

The son of Reason and Mary Miles Sherod, he was born at Winchester on Jan. 1, 1894. He married Helen Gray on Nov. 27, 1936. She survives.

He was a member of the Christian Church, of the Beer-Barker Post of the American Legion, and of the World War I Barracks. He was a veteran of World War I.

Also surviving are two brothers, Glen Sherod of Keosauqua and Craig Sherod of Farmington, and one sister, Berneice Dunshee of Keosauqua.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. at Keosauqua Christian Church with the Rev. John G. Ballensky of Sigourney, assisted by the Rev. Larry W. McAdoo of Keosauqua, officiating.

Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery.
