Mrs. Bordman Sherod

Keosauqua – Mrs. Maggie Sherod, 94, died at her farm home north of Keosauqua Monday about 10:55 p. m. She had been in failing health and bedfast since July 1964.

Born at Kilbourn, Jan. 5, 1871, she was the daughter of Samuel and Julia Burrow Taylor. On Dec. 29, 1892, she married Bordman Sherod, who died in 1934.

A son-in-law and daughter, Earl M. And Blanche Murphy had resided in the Sherod home since 1933 and Mr. Murphy died Nov. 27, 1964.

Mrs. Sherod was a lifetime resident of Van Buren County. She was a member of the Mount Zion Presbyterian Church since its founding.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Murphy, survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Margaret Price of Tulare, Calif.; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

The body is at Catcott Funeral Home.
