William Franklin Kerr, 45, was fatally stricken with a heart attack at his home near Bonaparte, Wednesday, August 10, 1977. The son of William R. and Dorothy F. Westfall Kerr, he was born Sept. 7, 1931, at Christianburg, Ohio. He married Dorothy Dodds at Fairfield, IA., in April, 1950, and married Alice Rudy July 6, 1975. He and his father were formerly in partnership in the operation of the weekly Bonaparte Record-Republican newspaper. He had been a resident here since 1945 and was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church, The Lions Club and Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are the parents, Kahoka, MO., son, William Martin Kerr, four daughters, Diane Shark, Linda Kite, Susan Kerr, all of Bonaparte and Sherri Ann Kerr of West Point, IA., sister Patricia Johnston, Fremont, IA., and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 12, 1977, at the Bonaparte Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Worsham officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery. The body was at the Carl Wilson Home in Bonaparte.
