Dorothy Frances Kerr, 79, Wayland, Mo., formerly of Bonaparte, IA., died at 6:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 1989 at Keokuk Area Hospital. Mrs. Kerr was born April 13, 1910 at Greenville, Ohio. She and her husband William owned and published the Bonaparte Record-Republican newspaper for a number of years. She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ of Kahoka, MO. She and William R. Kerr were married Sept. 24, 1927 at Lewistown, Ill. He died June 18, 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Johnston, Allison, IA. two sisters, Kathryn Cable, Troy, Ohio and Lillian Pfister, Sarosota, FL., seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Franklin Kerr, a sister Pauline McCann and two great- grandchildren Kelli Shark and Chasity Tucker. Her parents were Frank Aaron and Mary Magdalene Creager Westfall. The body is at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington, IA., where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. A memorial is being established with the Bonaparte First Responders. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
