2 Douds boys killed in collision on hilltop

DOUDS, IA. - Two 5-year-old Douds boys died Thursday when the car in which they were riding collided with a pickup truck at the crest of a hill just southwest of here.

Van Buren county sheriff's officials said Brandon Campbell and Austin Boyd died when a car driven by Shelly May, 37, of Douds collided with a truck driven by Phillip Davis, 17, of Douds on a gravel road. May and another passenger, Kathryn Campbell, 37, of Birmingham, were transported to University Hospitals in Iowa City. No reports on their condition were available Thursday night.

Davis and a passenger in the truck, Brian Campbell, 17, suffered minor injuries. Officials did not know if Brian Campbell is related to Kathryn Campbell or Brandon Campbell.
