Wednesday, October 15, there was a wedding on Vernon Prairie. At high noon on that day, at the pleasant home of the bride's parents, occurred the marriage of Miss Carrie Simmons and John Nelson Hunter. Rev. Boyd of Keosauqua spoke the words that united these young people. Only a few relatives were present to witness the ceremony.
Mrs. Hunter is the only child of Thomas Simmons. She is one of the school ma'ams of the county having successfully spent several years in that capacity.
John Nelson Hunter is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hunter. He is a young farmer of the Prairie, industrious and prudent, and highly esteemed by his fellows.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Hunter have lived on Vernon Prairie all their lives and now will locate on the Hunter property east of Story Chapel which Mr. Hunter has prepared for his bride.
