Warranty Deed.
Filed for Record October 11th A. D. 1888 at 8 1/2 o'clock A. M.
D. K. Kittle, Recorder Van Buren County, Iowa

Know all Men by these Presents, That we Samuel Chapman and Sarah S. Chapman of Van Buren County, and State of Iowa in consideration of the sum of One thousand DOLLARS, in hand paid by Julia A. Haberman of Van Buren County, and State of Iowa do hereby SELL AND CONVEY unto the said Julia A. Haberman the following described premises, situated in the County of Van Buren, and State of Iowa, to-wit:

South West quarter (1/4) of South West quarter 1/4 of Section number (3) three in Township (68) Sixty Eight Range (8) Eight. West, containing 40 acres with all the appurtenances thereto belonging

And we hereby covenant with the said Julia A. Haberman that we hold said premises by title in fee simple; that we have good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same; that they are free and clear of all liens and incumbrances whatsoever; and we covenant to WARRANT AND DEFEND the said premises against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

And the said Sarah S. Chapman hereby relinquishes all right of dower in and to the above described premises.

On this 14th day of August A. D. 1888, before me, James Wm Rice, a Notary Public within and for said County, personally came Samuel Chapman and Sarah Smeed Chapman his wife personally to me known to be the identical persons whose names are affixed to the above instrument as grantors, and have acknowledged the execution of the same to be voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein expressed.
