Wm P. Chapman + wife To Samuel Chapman

For the consideration of Seven hundred and sixty six dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. we William P. Chapman and Mary Ann Chapman his wife do hereby sell and convey to Samuel Chapman (all parties being of the County of Van Buren + State of Iowa. the following described tracts of land lying + being situated in said County + state to wit: Commencing at the North East corner of the North West quarter of Section five. Township Sixty eight. Range Eight. thence West on the North line of said quarter Section. thirty one Perches and thirteen links to a post. thence South Seventy five Perches and nineteen links to a Post. thence East thirty one perches and thirteen links to a Post on the East side of said quarter Section. thence North on the East line of said quarter Section Seventy five Perches and fourteen links to the place of beginning. containing Fourteen and ninety one hundredths acres (14 90/100) Also five acres off of the North end of the West side of the West half of the West half of the North East quarter of Section five in said Township. and Four acres out of twenty acres described as follows. off the West side of the West half of the West half of the North East quarter of Section Five in the above mentioned township. lying North of eleven acres and South of Five acres on the North East end of the twenty acres described. in the County of Van Buren and State of Iowa. And we hereby covenant with the said Samuel Chapman. that we hold said premises by title in fee simple. that we have good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same. that they are free and clear of all liens and incumbrances whatsoever. and we covenant to warrant and defend the said premises against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. and the said Mary Ann Chapman hereby relinquishes all her right of dower in and to the above described premises
