John Detwiler & wife to Catherine A. Detwiler

This indenture made the 17th day of October 1860 between John Detwiler and Cynthia Detwiler, his wife, of Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County, Iowa of the first part, and Catherine A. Detwiler of Harrisburg Township, county and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part and to her heirs and assigns forever all the following real estate lying and being in the County of Van Buren, State of Iowa, to wit: the south east corner of a strip off of the west side of the north east quarter of section thirty three (33) township sixty nine (69) range eight (8) west running north and south as described in a deed made by George G. Wright, Mary H. Wright, Augustine Hall and Jane B. Hall to John Detwiler, on the 30th of April 1855, the said north east corner to contain one (1) acre, and we warrant the title against all persons whomsoever.

In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands this 17th day of October 1860.

Before the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace in and for the county and state aforesaid, personally appeared John Detwiler and Cynthia Detwiler, his wife, personally known to me to be the identical persons whose names are affixed to the within instrument of writing as grantors and acknowledged the execution and signing of the same to be their voluntary act and deed.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 17th day of October A.D. 1860.
