John Wallingford to Catharine Detwiler

For the consideration of twenty dollars, we John Wallingford and Mary J., his wife, hereby sell and convey to Catharine Detwiler the following tract of land to wit:

One half acre of the east side of the west half of the east of the south east quarter of the south east quarter of section twenty-two township sixty-nine north of range eight west in the county of Van Buren and State of Iowa. And the said John Wallingford and Mary J., his wife, warrant the title against all persons whomsoever.

In witness whereof we have hereunto signed our names this ninth day of January eighteen hundred and seventy-one.

Be it remembered that on this ninth day of January A.D. 1871 before me, John. L. Leach, Notary Public, in and for said county personally appeared John Wallingford and Mary Jane, his wife, who are personally known to me to be the identical persons whose names are affixed to the above deed as grantors and acknowledge the same to be their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein written.
