John H. Detwiler to Geo. W. Miller

Know all men by these presents that we John H. Detwiler and Cordelia Detwiler of Van Buren County and State of Iowa in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid by George W. of Van Buren County, State of Iowa do hereby sell and convey unto the said George W. Miller and to his heirs and assigns the following described premises situated in the County of Van Buren and State of Iowa to wit:

Eleven and a half (11 1/2) acres off the south east half of south east quarter of north west quarter of section no. (4) township sixty-eight (68) range eight (8) west. This deed is made to correct a deed made by John H. Detwiler & wife to George W. Miller on the 19th day of August 1867 for fifteen (15) acres instead of 11 ½ acres. And we do hereby covenant with the said George W. Miller that we are lawfully seized of said premises, that they are free from incumbrance, that we have good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same and we do hereby (word) to warrant and defend the said premises against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. And the grantor aforesaid hereby relinquishes all contingent rights including right of dower which Cordelia Detwiler have in and to the said described premises. Signed the 9th day of April A.D. 1870.

On this 9th day of April A.D. 1870 before me a nortary public in and for said county personally came John H. Detwiler and Cordelia Detwiler, his wife, to me personally known to be the identical persons whose names are affixed to the above deed as grantors and acknowledged the same to be their voluntary act and deed.
