John H. Detwiler and wife to George M. Detwiler

For the consideration of eight hundred sixty six dollars, we, John H. Detwiler and Cordelia H. Detwiler, his wife, convey to George M. Detwiler the following described land being situate in the County of Van Buren and State of Iowa viz:

The west half of the south half of the north west quarter of section (4) four in township (68) sixty eight range (8) west except five acres off the west end containing thirty five acres being the same more or less and we warrant the title against all persons whomsoever.

In witness whereof we have hereunto signed our names this 2nd (second) day of May (1865) eighteen hundred sixty five.

Be it remembered that on this 2nd day of May 1865 before me, A. H. Leach a Justice of the Peace in and for said county personally appeared John H. Detwiler and Cordelia H. Detwiler, his wife, who are personally known to me to be the identical persons whose names whose names are signed on the above deed as grantors and acknowledge the same to be their voluntary act and deed for the use and purposes therein expressed given under my hand this second day of May A.D. 1865.
