Hanson Hankins and wife To John Henry Detwiler

For the consideration of seventeen hundred and thirty one dollars, we, Hanson Hankins and Harriett Hankins, his wife, hereby convey to John Henry Detwiler the following described land being situate in the County of Van Buren and State of Iowa (viz):

The south half of the north west quarter of section (4) four in township (68) sixty eight of range (8) west except five acres off the west and containing seventy acres being the same more or less and we warrant the title against all persons whomsoever.

In witness whereof we have hereunto signed our names the 18th day of April (1865) eighteen hundred sixty five.

Be it remembered that on this 18th day of April A.D. 1865 before me, Edwd. Mawn, Notary Public in and for said county personally appeared Hanson Hankins abd Harriet Hankins, his wife, who are personally know to me to be the identical persons whose names are affixed to the above deed as grators and acknowledged the same to be their voluntary act and deed for the use and purpose therein expressed.

In testimony I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this day and date above written.
