Hello John,
I did some research on Milo Brooks. His full name was Milo Bornais Brooks. He was born 24 Jun 1898 in Riverton, Floyd Co., Iowa and is listed with his parents in the 1900 and 1910 Federal Census.
In 1920 the family was living in Charles City, Floyd Co., Iowa.
By 1940 Dr. Milo Brooks was living in San Diego, CA. He died there on 8 Jun 1987.
Per family tree posted on Ancestry, he had 3 children.
Donna Lou 1933-2014. No spouse or children mentioned.
Richard Lee 1935-1941 in CA.
Ronald Allen 1937-1986 in CA. He was married and had 2 children. Their names not given.
There is no documentation, I could find, that Milo Brooks was living in Fremont County, Iowa.
If all of Dr. Brooks' papers were given to the National Library, my guess is that the family doesn't want them. That saddens me.
Who submitted the papers to the National Library?
Perhaps contact that person to learn more of the papers' history?Perhaps the Floyd Co. Historical Society would be interested in them. Their address is
500 Gilbert St, Charles City, IA 50616
Phone: (641) 228-1099I hope something here will be helpful to you.
