I have been looking for my grandmothers fathers family for a long time and keep running into brick walls. The name I'm looking for is JOHN FREDERICK and AUGUSTA (DIEDRICK) SCHUMANN they came to America in 1848 with their children. I only know of two names 1st. my ggrandfather FREDERICK SCHUMANN (b) 10 Feb. 1936 Prussia and CHRIS SCHUMANN. The information I was told was they settled in Iowa and that FREDERICK went with Brigman Young as a scout to Salt Lake didn't like Utah went back to Iowa and settled in Sarpy co. Nebraska where he married ANNA MARIE VOGHT who came from Germany. I do not know anything else except after the marriage that my grandmother told. If anyone knows of this family please email me.
