Thanks Dick:

Just started looking at this. The information on "Inawa" came from an older family member's memory. As we know, those often are a little off, so I'm not surprised that this place wasn't on the map. I also did a search for Claus and Lucy Schmidt in 1920 Nebraska, Burt County, and didn't come up with a hit. Do you know off hand where in the census they were found specifically? I have access to ancestry.com's census images and if you could point me to the right spot, it would sure save me a lot of searching. By the way, the 1930 census has them in Washington County, but it also says that Lucy was born in Nebraska. So much for family legends.

Thanks again for your information.
