Death of Albert Hamaker

Is there a way to find a death record or newspaper article in Iowa when the county is not known? I've been told Albert E. Hamaker died December 16, 1890 in Iowa--no place given. He lived in Ogle Co., IL and was buried there--a young father with a new baby--I suspect his death was accidental.
