The 1930 census shows only one Evelyn Trotter in Iowa. She was in Calhoun county which is adjacent to Sac County.

Lake Creek township, Calhoun County, Iowa
Trotter, Frank, head, 53, IA IN NC, farmer,
Ida, wife, 50, m 30 yrs, IA IA IA
Irene, dau, 17, NE IA IA
Wayne, son, 14, NE IA IA
Evelyn, dau, 10, IA IA IA

Perhaps they were married in Calhoun County. You could contact the county recorder's office there for marriage info, and the county clerk's office for divorce info.

Her brother Wayne died June 1987 in Lake City. His obit might mention his sister's married name and location. Records make it look like he had a son, John H Trotter living in Lake City who might know something.

Lake City Library 712-464-3413, may be able to find Wayne's obit.
