Rev. W. J. "Bill" Krieger was born abt. 1870 in Iowa. By 1920, he is in Tripp, Fair Township, Hutchinson County, SD -- per the 1920 U.S. Census. From 1932-1943, Rev. W.J. Krieger was pastor of the Petersburg Reformed Congregation in the Eureka Pastorate, South Dakota (der reformirten Gemeinde Petersburg in der Eureka Pfarrstelle South Dakota). This church is currently part of the Eureka Reformed Church which was dedicated on Sunday, August 19, 1956. It is located in the east part of the city. The Eureka Reformed Congregation
was joined by several dissolved rural Reformed congregations. The Gluecksthal Reformed Church of Odessa Twp east of Eureka closed in 1957. The 1894 Calvin congregation eight miles east and one south of Eureka dissolved in 1952. The Heidelberg congregation formed in 1893 southeast of Hillsview and closed in 1926. In western McPherson County the Rohrbach Church, ten miles north of Eureka, closed in 1949. The 1892 Sarons Church northeast of Long Lake closed in 1955.
