Cindy M. Evans, 50, of Atlantic, Iowa, formerly of Creston, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Neb. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Powers Funeral Home junction of highways 34 & 25 Creston. Pastor Tim Haynie will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery in Creston, Iowa. Family receiving friends will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Cindy Marie (Fleharty) Evans, daughter of Shirley Marie (McGinnis) and Raymond Marion Fleharty was born March 11, 1958 in California. She graduated from Creston High School in 1975. In 1976 she married Jon Sanden in Fort Dodge. Three children were born to this marriage; Shane, Shannon and Shaun. They later divorced. She married Warren Hudson, Jr. and to this marriage they had one daughter; Sherry. They later divorced. Cindy married George Evans in Atlantic. She was a homemaker. Cindy was a member of the saddle club in Atlantic and Nodaway, Iowa. She enjoyed bowling, horseback riding, working with her flowers and animals. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her parents; Raymond and Shirley Fleharty of Creston, two sons; Shane Sanden and Shaun Sanden both of Creston; two daughters; Shannon (husband Mike) Myers, son Jayden of Nebraska and Sherry Steinhoff, children Dylan and Torie of Creston; one brother; Bob Fleharty of Creston; two sisters; Sheila (husband Monty) Mickey of Creston and Cathy (husband Lonnie) Maynes of Lenox; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
