Francis, Irene Virginia Bullock -
Irene Virginia Francis, age 90, of Kent, IA. died Monday February 13, 2006 at her
home.
Irene Virginia Francis, was the daughter of Mary Etta (White) and William Perry
Bullock. She was born July 5, 1915, in Pleasant Township, Union Courtly, IA. She was
educated in the Union County Country Schools.
On August 10, 1934, Irene was united in marriage to Raymond Francis in Creston.
She worked as a homemaker and farm wife, all of her life, first on a farm South of
Creston, then moving to the home place South of Kent, where she still resided. Irene
was a member of the Platte Center Presbyterian Church, and formerly was a member
of the Prairie Star Presbyterian Church, where she held many offices over the years.
Services were held Friday February 17, 2006 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston.
Rev. Tim Maxa officiated the service. Interment was at the Graceland Cemetery in
Creston.
Memorials can be made to the Platte Center Church in Creston, IA.
Irene is survived by four sons: David (wife Fern) Francis, Dallas, TX, Dennis
(wife Glocile) Francis, West Des Moines, IA; Jere (wife Candis) Francis, Columbia,
MO; Ted (wife Ruth) Francis, Burlington, IA; ten grandchildren: Jolene (husband Jason)
Lindsey, Jason Francis, Barbara (husband George) Curth, Robert (wife Jodi) Francis,
Brian (wife Chandra) Francis, Angenette (husband Jerrett) Osburn, Nathan Francis,
Adam Francis, Allison Francis, Craig Francis and five great grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond, five sisters,
Bessie Shoemaker, Ona Ray, Amy Henderson, Ruth Fesler and Cecile in infancy and five
brothers, Walter, Roy, Ray, Loren and Clifford Bullock.
