Priebe, Donna Waddington -
Donna Priebe, Creston, IA. passed away Thursday, September 20, 2004, at the greater Community Hospital,
Creston. Services were held Monday, October 4, at the United Methodist Church, Creston with Pastor Clark
Finehout, United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery, Creston. There was open
visitation on Sunday, October 3, from 1-5 p.m. and the family received friends from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.
Donna was born September 28, 1925, Colfax, IA to Claude James and Mima (Price) Waddington. She was married
to Winston Miller Priebe, June 1, 1947 in Belmond, IA. Winston pre-deceased her June 14, 1994.
The Priebe's were best known in this area as the owner/operators of the Family Shoe Store in Creston from
1950 to 1987 after which they retired and traveled extensively.
Donna is survived by her daughters and their husbands as follows: Debbie (husband Rick) Blum, Cincinnati, OH;
Denise (husband Bob) Kuhl, Creston; Pam(husband Pat) Montague, Allen, TX; Missy (husband Craig) Lamb,
Bloomington, IN.
She is also survived by her sister Joyce Castleman, Atlanta, GA.
She was pre-deceased by her parents; her husband in 1994. Three brothers: Bobby, Jim and Ray Waddington.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church; United Methodist Woman; Lady Elks: P.E.O.; Hospital
Auxiliary; Hospice Guild; Original Member of the Board of Directors of the Southern Prairie YMCA. She also
rode on RAGBRAI for several years.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great, grandchild.
