Reuben A. McCormick, 96, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the All American Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21st from 4:00-7:00 P.M. with Masonic Rites to be held at 6:45 P.M. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Reuben’s name. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Reuben Allen McCormick was born on March 4, 1917 in Conesville, Iowa, the son of Charles A. and Grace (Brockway) McCormick. On June 20, 1943 Reuben was united in marriage to Geroldene “Jerry” R. Wilkie in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a lifetime farmer in the Letts and Moscow area, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and had served as a board member for Muscatine County Mutual Insurance. He attended the Wilton United Methodist Church. Reuben enjoyed helping family with projects and especially, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Reuben will be deeply missed by his daughter, Deborah Thompson and husband, Donn of Muscatine; son, Gary McCormick and wife, Judy of Moscow; seven grandchildren, Josh and Matt Thompson, Will (Amber) Wingerter, Alicia (Barry) Cooling, Amanda (Chris) Koch, Amy (Nolan) Mente and Ashley (Matt) Shields; ten great grandchildren, Hailey, Ty, Lainey, Evan, Clayton, Daelyn, Meliah, Madelyn, Addison and Trevin; and one sister, Isabelle Buser of Lone Tree.

Reuben was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Roy McCormick; and two sisters, Elizabeth Orris and Esther McCormick.
