Schofield, Mary Madden -
Funeral services were held July 10 in Creston for Mary Madden Schofield, 74, who died there July 7. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery at Creston.
Bishop Brent E. Pulsipher of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiated at the services.
Speakers were Tim Spencer and Eldon Graves. Dedication of the grave was by Wayne L. Schofield.
Pallbearers were Erin Maguire, Lloyd Mclaughlin, Doug Minnick, Glen Mullin, Terry Mullin and Jack Schofield. Honorary bearers were Floyd Moore and George Ries.
Born July 30, 1910 in Kent, Mrs. Schofield was a daughter of Walter and Mary Madden Mickey. She was married Aug. 27, 1928 to Verne Schofield in Creston.
She was a resident of Union County prior to Gowrie in 1958, then to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1961. She returned to Creston in 1971.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She leaves a daughter, Norma Jean Johnson of Burlington; two sons, Wayne of Creston and Lloyd of Lenox; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Richardson of Creston; two brothers, Glenn of Creston and Howard of Kent; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bonnie Maguire and Deena Schofield of Lenox and Jack Schofield, formerly of Lenox, are among the grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.
