Veatch, Florence Lutishe Dawes -
Florence Lutishe Veatch, of Prescott, Iowa, died April 2, 1976 at the Rosary hospital in Corning.
She was born July 31, 1890, the daughter of John Bailey Dawes and Arda Jane Johnson at Clearmont, Mo. She was 85 at the time of her death.
Mrs. Veatch was united in marriage to Charles A. Veatch at Maryville, Mo., Aug. 21, 1907. Her husband preceded her in death March 17, 1964.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Gunnar (Viola) Sandstrom of Lenox, Iowa and Mrs. LaVern (Arda) Brown of Tempe, Arizona; 1 daughter-in-law, Wilma Gaidies, Creston, Iowa; four sons, Glen Veatch of Fontanelle, Iowa, Walter Veatch of Prescott, Eugene Veatch of Lamar, Colo., and Howard Veatch of Creston; Iowa. Eighteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren also survive.
She had lived in the Creston, Orient, Cromwell and Lenox communities since moving from Missouri in 1914. She spent most of her life as a homemaker.
Funeral services were held from the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home Tuesday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Don Briley officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Jean Boyd, organist and Mrs. Donna Veatch, soloist.
Pallbearers were Louis Davidson, Albert Sandstrom, Haldean, Harold, Johnny and Marlin Veatch.
Interment was in the Graceland cemetery at Creston.
