Vanderpluym, Louis -
Louis Vanderpluym, son of John and Wilhelmina Vanderpluym was born July 24, 1888 in Hanks Holland, and departed this life April 7, 1974 at Ringgold County Hospital.
On April 16, 1917, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth McMannus at Lenox, Iowa. To this union six children were born.
Lou was a retired farmer of Lincoln township and had his home in Mt Ayr since he retired in 1969 until July 1973 when he went to make his home at Clearview at Clearfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth in 1971 and one infant daughter.
He is survived by one son, Paul of Diagonal and four daughters, Veldeva Rees of Winterset, Martena Mobley of Benton, Lucille of Lehigh and Frances Ricker of Mt Ayr. A niece, Catherine Morley of Lenox was also raised in the Vanderpluym home. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and 11 great grand children.
Funeral services were held April 10th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maloy with Rev, Frs. McIlhon and Hoffmam conducting masg.
Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Creston.
