The funeral of D. A. Mercer whose death was announced in our last issue occurred on Friday. Rev. Collins conducted the services and the remains were followed to the grave by a large number of friends. D. A. Mercer was one of the oldest residents of Afton, a man of upright character, prompt in his dealing and universally respected. His death is deeply regretted and the bereaved wife has the assurance that the many friends of the family remember her in her sorrow
