Delores Wittstock, Afton

Delores Wittstock, 75, of Afton, died of cancer May 12, 2003, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset with Pastor Dwayne Henrichs officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 15 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Lorimor Cemetery.

Delores Wittstock was born May 5, 1928 to John T. and Freida (Rulla) Hestermann of rural Adams, Neb. She received her teaching certificate from the University of Lincoln in Lincoln, Neb., and taught for five years in rural schools in southeast Nebraska. On May 28, 1950, she married Arlo D. Wittstock in Sterling, Neb. Delores was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset and American Legion Auxiliary Post 96 of Lorimor.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Floyd Hestermann, Robert Hestermann and an infant brother.

She is survived by her husband, Arlo of Afton; two sons, Duane Wittstock of Norwalk and Dean Wittstock of Afton; two daughters, Carol Murawski of Eagle, Wis., and Lois Munden of Lorimor; two brothers, Marvin Hestermann and Eldon Hestermann; four sisters, Alyce Weiss, Martha Menard, Janice Rosekrans and Barbara MacKichan; 11 grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
