ISAAC NEWTON McFEE

Isaac Newton McFee, son of Alexander and Isabella Webster McFee was born at Kent, Iowa, on June 17, 1892, and became a member of Platte Center church at a very early age. He passed away at the home of his brother, Ab, near Afton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 1950.

On Aug. 2, 1913, he was married at Creston to Mayme McCann. He lived in the vicinity of Kent and Creston all of his life, until 1936 when he moved to Tacoma, Wash., his present home.

“Ike” and his wife were visiting relatives and friends in this community and were making plans to return home when he suddenly passed away. He had been in ill health for four years.

Although there were no children born to this union, he was very dear friend and “Uncle Ike” to many children in addition to his own nieces and nephews.

Surviving are his wife, two sisters: Mrs. Hannah Schwab and Mrs. Lizzie Reed of Greenfield; three brothers, James of Creston, Ab of Afton, and Bruce of Kent, also many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the McGregor Brothers and Corns chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Rev. John E. Klein officiated. Burial was in Graceland cemetery. Pallbearers were his eight nephews.
