FLOYD MOORE DIES – CRESTON

Floyd George Moore, 90, of 507 N. Cedar St., Creston, died of emphysema at his home on Sunday, Jan. 24, 1988.

He was born July 30, 1897, in Ellston, the son of Charles Benton and Blanche (Pidcook) Moore. On June 23, 1919, he married Gladys Marie Brown at Mount Ayr.

They farmed in Ellston and Beaconsfield area from 1919 to 1947, the Creston area from 1947 to 1955, and then returned to farm near Ellston. They retired from farming and moved to Creston in 1969.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of Creston; a daughter, Berniece Carroll of Eldon; two sons, Harold R. and Wife, Fama Moore of Creston, and Donald L. Moore of Abbeyville, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a sister, Louisa Kent of Mount Ayr.

He was preceded in death by a son and wife, Roland and Shirley Moore; a grandson; and a brother, C. W. Moore.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston with the Rev. Ross O. Shinn, pastor of the Plymouth Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was at the Tingley Cemetery.
