WM. FIGGINS DIES – MINN.

William “Bill” Figgins, 69, of Grand Rapids, Minn., and formerly of Warba and Deer River, Minn., passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 1987, in his home.

He was born in Creston, Iowa, and was raised in that area. He was a self-employed contractor and equipment builder in Grand Rapids for several years. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving as a B-17 crew member.

Mr. Figgins is survived by his wife, Marion; three daughters, Margaret Thomas of Grand Rapids, Karen Clark of Phoenix, and Victoria Hodgson of Grand Rapids; four sons, La Vern C. of Deer River, William F. and Marvin G., both of Grand Rapids, and Mark A. Figgins of Cohasset; a half-sister, Mardale Paxton of Afton, Iowa; a foster brother, Everett Brown of Warba, Minn.; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Services were held Monday afternoon at the Good News Bible Church in Cohasset, Minn. Burial with full military honors was a Warba-Feeley Cemetery with the Carroll Funeral Home of Deer River in charge of the arrangements.
