GRACE MYERS DIES – AFTON

Grace Myers, 85, of Afton Care Center, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1988, at the center.

She was born Feb. 16, 1892, in Afton, the daughter of Creed and Rebecca Jane (Larimer) Holland. In December 1914, she was married to Carl Myers in Afton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1976.

Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and lived in the Afton area all of her life.

She is survived by two sons, William Creed and wife, Iona Myers of Lawrenceville, N.J., and Richard Carl and wife, Mary Myers of Afton; six grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Stroud-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Afton with the Rev. John Tunnicliff officiating. Music was proved by Cindi Selim, organist. Pallbearers were John Champlin, Dick, Howard Creed and R. C. Myers and James McGrath. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Bacon, Clarence Larimer, Douglas Seeley, Haldon Jackson, Ike Lee, Truman Shroudemier, Gene King, Paul W. Miller and Eugene Sullivan. Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery.
