Mabel Irene Owens

Mabel Irene Owens, daughter of Albert Henry Beakler and Elizabeth Morley was born February 10, 1890, at Humeston, Iowa and departed this life on August 28, 1967 at the age of 77. At age 11 she went to Indianola to stay with an aunt, Miss Grace Morley during her school years until graduation from High School in 1908. She spent the next few years teaching until she was united in marriage to Terrence L. Owens on December 21, 1910 at Afton. They lived at Afton until 1916, and then spent 3 years in Wyoming, returning in 1919.

She is survived by her husband Ted, two daughters, Mrs. George (Margaret) Fish of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth) Seastrum of Corpus Christi, Texas, 5 grandchildren, George, Bridget, Linda and Jack Fish and Richard Seastrum, a brother, Clifford Beakler of Humeston, Iowa, 2 nephews, Floyd Beakler and Gene Beakler, 2 nieces, Faye Caffrey and Linda Boles.

She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
