Mrs. Mary I. John
Dies at Boone

Mrs. Mary I. John, 86, of Creston, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Boone, Ia., where she had been for three weeks. She had been ill for five years.

Her body will arrive in Creston Tuesday and will be taken to the home of her son, Ralph Hollibaugh, at 508 West Mongtomery street. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church at 2 o'l clock Wednesday afternoon with burial in Green Lawn cemetery at Afton.

Mary I. Beamer was born in Illinois, July 29, 1860. She came to Ringgold county in 1863, and was married at what is now Diagonal to W. G. Hollibaugh in 1880. The moved to Union county in 1900. Mr. Hollibaugh died in 1910.

In 1913 she married Sanford C. John in Creston. He died April 4, 1935.

Mrs. John was a member of the Christian church

She is survived by five children, Mrs. Frank Seeley of Afton, Ralph Hollibaugh of Creston, Mrs. A. C. Olmstead of Boone, Mrs. Dwight Holloway of Columbus, Kan., and Kenneth Hollibaugh of Kansas City, Kan.

[note-based on research of names in family bible and census records, she is buried with son Harold 1901-1901 and next to daughter Ruthie 1884-1885, under the name Dora Hollibaugh. Census record of 1880-1885-1905-1920 she is listed as Dora; other records have Mary]
