Services for Mrs. Mary Frances McFarland, 84, of 2043 Des Moines st., daughter of a pioneer Iowa family, will be at 2pm Saturday at the Watts funeral home in Lorimor. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery at Afton.

Mrs. McFarland died Wednesday at the Lillegard Nursing home, 1329 Norton ave. She had been in failing health since the death, last November of her husband, A.A. McFarland.

Mrs. McFarland's parents (James C. and Sarah Craig Berry) came to Burlington in 1850 and later moved to Union county, near Lorimor (Arispe, Iowa). A Des Moines resident since 1904, Mrs. McFarland had been a member of Asbury Methodist church since 1905.

A son, Dr. Ray E. McFarland of Wichita, Kan., is the sole survivor.
