FUNERAL FOR ROY EKLUND HELD WEDNESDAY: Roy William Eklund, 60, passed away at the Greater Community Hospital, Monday morning April 13, at 6:20 a.m. He had suffered a heart attack about two weeks ago.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Keating Funeral Home in Creston With Rev Marcus Aurelius, pastor of the Salem Lutheran church of officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery at Shannon City.

Roy William Eklund was born in Lincoln township August 10, 1903. He was the son of Bangt August and Amanda Christian (Anderson) Eklund. He was married at Creston, February 14, 1925, to Esther Snider. Mr. Eklund was a farmer living on route 1-A Afton.

Survivors include his widow; a son Dale Eklund, route 1-A; 2 grandchildren, Christina, Peter and Andrew Eklund; four brothers, Carl Eklund, route 1-A; L.J. Eklund, Shannon City; Wilbur and Arthur Eklund, Creston; two sisters, Mrs Arla Nulph, Afton and Mrs. Everett Nisely of Villisca.

A son, Ralph, preceded him in death Nov. 26, 1926.

Mr. Eklund was confirmed in the Creston Salem Lutheran Church.
