ARTHUR H. GROESBECK, 90 DIES WEDNESDAY

Arthur Hugh Groesbeck, 90, a retired farmer who lived seven miles northeast of Afton passed away at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, January 10th at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Stroud Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Kivett of Macksburg officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. The Stroud Funeral Home of Afton is in charge of services.

Arthur Hugh Groesbeck was born October 28, 1877 in Union county, the son of Dan Van Ness and Sarah Fenner Groesbeck. He had lived on the same farm since 1923.

January 6, 1917 he was married to Bernice Elton. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters: Vera Louise and Sadie Marie. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, north of Afton.

Survivers include his widow; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Vera) Eveland, Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. Anthony (Marie) Belfoire of Hiattsvile, Maryland; 4 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
