Robert L. Donner Jr., 69, of Chariton, formerly of Creston, died Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of cancer.

Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Greenlawn Cemetery at Afton. A family night will be held from 7-8 to night at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton.

Mr. Donner was married Aug. 29, 1938, in Winterset to Dora Schrodt. He farmed and worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad while living in Creston. He moved to Chariton and later retired.

Survivors include his wife, Dora; three sons, Arthur "Art" of Creston, Robert 3rd of Russell and Albert Donner of Chariton; two daughters, Jannet Fry of Chariton and Sharron at home; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald of Augusta GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Bessie Donner and a sister, Helen Russell.
