“The community was greatly shocked and hearts saddened by the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Kinkade who passed away suddenly Wednesday [October 27] at her home, 211 Myrtle street, Creston. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon [October 30] at the home, conducted by Rev. C. C. Harris, pastor of the Congregational church, and were attended by many friends and former neighbors from this vicinity. Interment was made in the Cromwell cemetery. Elizabeth Nichols accompanied her parents from Scotland to America in 1890. The family came here from Garden Grove about twenty seven years ago and located on a farm about two and one-half miles from town. After the passing of the parents, the deceased remained in the home until she was united in marriage to William Kinkade, August [14], 1918. Later they purchased property at Creston, where they have since lived. Mr. Kinkade passed away on Decoration Day [May 30], 1925. She is survived by two brothers, T. W. Nichol, of this vicinity, and J. S. Nichol, of Creston, also one sister, Miss Jeane Nichol of New York City.” END
