“The community was greatly shocked and hearts were saddened by the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Kinkade, who passed away suddenly at her home in Creston [on October 27]. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon [October 30] at the home, conducted by Rev. C. C. Harris, pastor of the Congregational church, and were attended by many from this community. Interment was made at the Cromwell cemetery. Elizabeth Nichols accompanied her parents from Scotland in 1890. The family came here from Garden Grove about 27 years ago and located on a farm about two and one-half miles from town. After the passing of the parents, the deceased remained in the home until she was united in marriage to William Kinkade in August [14], 1918. Later Mr. and Mrs. Kinkade purchased property in Creston, where they have since resided. The husband passed away in May [30], 1925. She is survived by two brothers, T. W. Nichols, of this vicinity, and J. S. Nichols, of Creston; also one sister, Miss Jeane Nichols, of New York City.” END
