EDRA VIOLA HARRISONEdra Viola Harrison of Creston [Union County, Iowa] passed away July 30, 1977 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. The daughter of Edward Winn and Carrie Smith Winn, she was born Feb. 6, 1898 in Adair County, Iowa.
She was united in marriage Aug. 24, 1921 to Claude Harrison at Fontanelle, Iowa. Two sons and two daughters were born to this union.
She lived all of her married life in Adams County on a farm west of Cromwell until moving to Creston in 1960. Mrs. Harrison taught school in rural Adams County for several years. She was a member of the Cromwell United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth L. Harrison of Thermopolis, Wyo. and Lyle Harrison of Afton, Iowa; two daughers, Mrs. Ken (Dorothy) Hudson and Mrs. Merrill (Lela) Eggman, both of Creston; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Delmar (Audrey) Cherrington of Harlingen, Tex., Mrs. Thelma Smock and Mrs. Ben (Helen) Crossley of Cromwell, Mrs. Cleo (Gertrude) Snyder of Creston, Mrs. Tom (Nina) Mikkelsen of Orient and Mrs. Ruth McVey of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Glen Winn of Murray, Ia, and Warner Winn of Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one infant sister.
Funeral services were held at the Cromwell United Church of Christ, August 2 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth R. Reiter officating. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery [aka Cromwell Cemetery] at Cromwell.
A memorial has been established for the Cromwell United Church of Christ." END
