October 18, 1893The sad news of the death of Thomas Carrigan was brought to town Friday morning. Mr. Carrigan has been sick for a long time with lung disease. His recovery has been deemed hopeless for months, and yet with a wonderful vitality he held the fell destroyer at bay.
The funeral occurred Saturday morning at St. Edward’s church, Rev. Father Bede, of Creston, officiating. Many friends were in attendance both from Afton and from Creston. The remains were interred in the cemetery west of town. Coming so soon after the death of his father Patrick Carrigan, this is a sad blow to the relatives.
He leaves a wife and several children who have the earnest sympathy of the entire community.
