Afton, Iowa, August 3, 1893

The death of Patrick Carrigan whose serious illness we announced last week, took place on Friday. He never rallied from the first attack and was not able to converse. The funeral was held at St. Edward’s church Saturday morning and was attended by a very large number of people including many business.

Rev. Father Bede conducted the ceremony in a very impressive manner after which the remained were interred in Calvary Cemetery west of town.
