Jean Farwell

Jean Farwell was born Feb. 1, 1931, to George Ross and Effie Mae (Christ) Chadwick in Orient. She passed away Sunday, Oct. 22,2000, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 69.
Jean attended school in Orient and graduated from Orient High School in 1949. She married Leroy G. KinKennon Feb 1950 inCreston. Leroy passed away July 1985. On Aug 30,1991, Jean married Raymond Allen Farwell in Creston.
She was a homemaker and book-keeper for KinKennon Electric of Creston and managed the Greater Community Hospital Coffee Shop from 1986 - 1992. She then worked for Southern Iowa Trolley for three years retiring in 1995.
Jean was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Creston, church circle, two card clubs, the Eagles Auxiliary, and helped with the Creston Congregate Meal Site.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Leroy KinKennon: a grandson Darcy Legge; two brothers, Daryl Chadwick and Clinton Chadwick; and three sisters, Viola Jones, Ruth Recoy and Melba Gile.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Farwell of Creston; daughter Sheri Moffitt and husband, Jerry of Bellevue, Neb., son, Jim and wife, Sue KinKennon of Papillion, Neb.; stepdaughter, Donna Farwell and husband, Bob
Murphy of St. Marys; stepsons, Calvin Farwell and wife, Diane of Dallas, Texas , Larry Farwell and wife, Denise of Carona, Calif., Steve Farwell and wife, Lynn of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; brothers, Veral Chadwick and wife, Darelene of Williamson, and Robert Chadwick and wife, Charlene of Omaha, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Charotte Forsythe and Dorothy Endres both of Winterset, LaVaun Wright of Stuart, and Inez Bennett and husband, Charles of Lorimor; 14 grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. The Rev. Terry Amann officiated. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Creston.
At the time when Raymond Allen Farewell and Regenia Phillis Chadwick, Kinkennon got married he was 65 years of age and she was 60 years of age.
