Mary L. Miller Dies Here at 89
Mary L. Miller, 89, of 1004 West Jefferson Street, died Saturday
evening July 1, 1967 at Greater Community hospital. She is survived by three
daughters, Mrs. Carl DeFord of Mountain Home, Ark., Mrs. Clyde Stradley of Shannon
City, and Mona Jackson of Los Gatos, Calif., two sons, Bert Miller of Creston and
Lonnie Miller of Lorimor, 14 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Sadie West of Afton.
Mrs. Miller was born Nov. 12, 1877, in Jasper County, the daughter of Ebb and
Caroline Ammer Kingery, and had lived in Union County most of her life. She moved
to Creston from Afton five years ago.

On Aug. 27, 1895, she was married to J.T. Miller who died in March, 1958. Also
preceding her in death were seven brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren and two
great grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Afton Methodist church where funeral services
will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Officiating will be Rev. Lyle DeFord of Dacoma,
Okla., a grandson, and Rev. Dwight Bonham, pastor of the church. The Stroud funeral
home will be in charge. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Afton.
